10/27/25 UPDATE: STILL NO CONTACT FROM VALVOLINE’S INSURANCE COMPANY. STILL NO RENTAL.
MY AUDI STILL NOT REPAIRED.
10 DAYS AND COUNTING AND NO RESOLUTION! I have contacted the company CEO, IL Insurance Commissioner Office, BBB, and the State’s Attorney General Office.
They neglected to put oil in my car after draining it. They locked up my Audi motor, and it needs to be replaced.
They are giving me the runaround.
It has been 6 days and counting with no rental and nothing done. There has been no apology and horrible ethics!

Verified Reviewer |On [Insert Date], my 2017 Lexus NX200t (VIN: JTJBARBZ2H212****) received an oil change at Valvoline Instant Oil Change, 555 West 5th Street, Eureka, MO.
- - Oil change at Valvoline Instant Oil Change, Eureka, MO.
- - Within 24 hours, engine noises and oil pressure light; metal in oil.
On July 18th, 2025, I received an oil change at Valvoline Instant Oil Change, 555 West 5th Street, Eureka, MO. Within 24 hours, my engine made abnormal noises, and the oil pressure light came on.
A certified service center found multiple critical fault codes, metal in the oil, and signs of overfill, concluding the engine requires full replacement. The store manager admitted procedural lapses, including a heavily contaminated oil filter and a vacuum system that failed to remove sediment or sludge. Despite multiple calls to the store and corporate support, no formal resolution or acknowledgment of fault has been provided. I am filing this complaint because Valvoline damaged my vehicle during a routine service and has refused to take responsibility.
As a direct result of their actions, my car has been left at a repair shop waiting for an engine replacement that I cannot afford. This has caused me severe hardship, both financially and personally, because I no longer have reliable transportation. I relied on Valvoline to perform basic service on my vehicle and trusted that it would be handled with care and professionalism.
Instead, I am now facing major expenses, stress, and disruption to my daily life. I believe it is unfair and unacceptable that Valvoline is not acknowledging their role in causing this damage, and I am asking that they cover the full cost of the repairs to make this right.
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: I request public documentation of this issue to alert consumers, hold Valvoline accountable, and ensure corrective action.

- - Upselling dominated the oil change.
- - Oil drained and started without replacement; low oil alarm; tires were not inflated.
- - I won't be returning.
The Forum location 3430 forum Blvd, Ft Myers, FL 33905
I've been coming to this location for over a year, but the customer service has gone downhill fast. On my most recent visit (8/4/25) for a synthetic oil change, the experience was not only disappointing it was alarming.
Instead of focusing on the basic services included in their already inflated prices, the staff seemed more interested in upselling additional services. I've had to remind them to check my tire pressure every single time, which is a basic part of an oil change. But this visit took the cake. After draining my oil, they asked me to start the vehicle without replacing it.
As soon as I did, the oil pressure gauge bottomed out and an alarm I'd never heard before went off. It was a low oil pressure warning. I shut the engine off immediately and told the attendant. He checked the dipstick, realized there was no oil, and added 6 quarts.
Only then did the warning disappear and the gauge return to normal. I can only hope their negligence didn't cause internal damage to my engine. And even after that, they still forgot to check my tire pressure. I reminded them again, and they claimed to have filled the tires.
But when I checked the pressure myself after leavingunreal. It was nowhere near correct.
(Photo attached.) If they can't even fill a tire properly, I definitely won't trust them with my vehicle again. This kind of carelessness is unacceptable, and I won't be returning.

Verified ReviewerTakes advantage of my young daughter. Extremely high prices. Non helpful CS
- - Daughter billed $156 for an oil change; $75 for synthetic blend; cabin filter $60.
- - Complaint with corporate; store ignored and refused refund; avoid this company.
Avoid this company at all costs.
So she went in and somehow her oil change was $156! I really feel like they took advantage of her. And their prices are ridiculous. Just for the synthetic blend, I was told it's like $75.
That's $30 more than Walmart. And they charged her $60 for a cabin filter. I really believe they take advantage of people. And probably the fact that my daughter is young and doesn't understand how this works and how much it should cost.
I filed a complaint with corporate. The store ignored me for weeks. I was promised a call multiple times as well. It never happened until today after numerous attempts.
At the end of the day, they refused to refund any amount. They are awful to deal with. They lie, take advantage of unsuspecting people, and have extremely high prices. The corporate office was also extremely rude to me today.
The customer service rep was very snarky. She told me if I did a chargeback it would go to her and she is the highest person at the company looking at disputes, and she would not refund it. Awful human being. This review will remain up permanently.
If the company wants to refund, then I will edit or delete this review.
My advice: avoid not only this location but this entire company. Save yourself lots of cash and potential headaches.
- Price and unhelpful management
Preferred solution: Full refund

Verified ReviewerDamage to vehicle
- - Feb 28, 2025: oil change and tire rotation; lug nut and wheel stud found.
- - Sanchez denied fault, refused supervisor contact; safety concerns.
On February 28, 2025, at 9:25 AM, my mother visited Valvoline Instant Oil Change at 11804 E. Colonial Dr.
in Orlando, FL 32826 for a routine service, requesting both an oil change and a tire rotation. She has been a loyal customer at this location for some time, regularly receiving these services without issue.
At the conclusion of the service, the manager, Eric Sanchez, presented my mother with a lug nut and a broken wheel stud from the rear passenger-side tire. Rather than offering an apology, he simply advised her to have the repair completed at a location other than a dealership or a major tire service provider, as those options would be more expensive. He assured her that the remaining three lug nuts had been secured and that she should be fine until the repair was completed.
Concerned, my mother immediately contacted me, and we returned to the location to address the issue.
When I spoke with Mr. Sanchez, he denied any responsibility, stating that because all other lug nuts had been removed without issue, Valvoline was not at fault for the damage. I requested to speak with his supervisor, but he refused to provide that information and instead advised me to file a claim, which I did.
On Monday, March 3, I received a call from Valvolines corporate customer service department. Eric Sanchez was also on the call and reiterated the same stance that because they were able to remove all other lug nuts without incident, they would not cover the repair for the one that broke.
I requested to escalate the matter and speak directly with his manager, Michael, the area manager. I was assured that he would contact me. However, after waiting an entire week with no response, I reached out again on Friday to the claims department to express my concerns and requested that Michael contact me by Monday.
I also learned that the standard claims process involves the store manager consulting with the area manager, after which the store manager is responsible for reaching out. Given my dissatisfaction with how Mr.
Sanchez handled the situation, I made it clear that I wished to speak directly with Michael instead. Despite this, I have yet to receive a response.
Aside from the poor customer service, I am deeply concerned about the safety implications of my mother being sent away with a compromised wheel. Driving with only three lug nuts on a wheel can lead to uneven pressure distribution, increasing the risk of excessive stress on the remaining lug nuts. Over time, this can result in further loosening, wheel vibration, and, in extreme cases, the wheel detaching while driving.
This poses a serious safety hazard not only to my mother but also to others on the road. It is unacceptable for a service provider to dismiss such a risk without taking responsibility for the damage they caused.
I am extremely disappointed with how this issue has been managed.
My mother, a loyal customer on a fixed income, visited this location expecting a routine service with a valid coupon only to leave with an unexpected and costly repair that she did not cause. The lack of accountability, poor communication, and refusal to take responsibility for the damage have left us very dissatisfied with this establishment's customer service.
- Quick service and great service if done correctly
- Not taking responsibility for damage
Preferred solution: Pay for the repair of the broken stud that my mother had to have replaced.

Verified ReviewerResolved: Their negligence destroyed my transmission.
- - Valvoline service: drain plug not tightened; washer missing; transmission failed.
- - Early denial; video evidence led to repair coverage and Uber fees.
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. It was determined that it was Kia who was at fault.
Trying to get my warranty honored. You may hear from me about this again.
a few months ago. One month ago, my transmission went out. It is a closed system (no way to check fluid) and no lights came on on the dash. I took it to my dealer and they found that the drain plug had not been closed properly.
They neglected to place the washer back on the bolt and hand tightened it. I had very little fluid left. Within a few days, a claim was filed with Valvoline. They sent the foreman from the same service center to inspect the car and she exclaimed loudly that they wouldn't cover it and tried to blame the dealership.
Thus, I escalated the issue to the area manager, {{Redacted}}. He said my story and that of the inspector were different. He said derogatory things about the dealer's employee and the dealership that were uncalled for. I captured a video of the technician showing the bolt issue, and within days he agreed to cover the repair and any Uber fees as well.
That was one week ago. Over a week later, the Valvoline rep went to the dealer and met with the Operations Manager. He looked at the reports and asked to drive the car. The shop told him he could not and he stormed out.
The transmission does not work and he wanted to take my car on a leisurely test drive? These actions are holding up an obvious claim and I am at my witts end.
I have complained to the BBB and to the state Attorney General's office regarding this issue. It is a $5,200 bill because of their negligence. I am hopeful that someone at Valvoline will reach out to me to get moving on this claim as I feel he is stonewalling.
The car is only five years old. I need it to conduct my business.
User's recommendation: Don't trust this company with your car.

Misleading service.
Firstly do not use them, and if you have issues, I am not sure if anything can be done. Smi will say no to oil can Henry from here on out as they have not tried to sort this issue out with me.
I was charged for a cylindrical filter that doesn't even fit my car. Upon further investigation the engine filter wasn't changed.

Verified ReviewerNever reinstalls bottom pan after oil change
- - LaVergne, TN location repeatedly fails to reinstall the bottom pan.
- - Pan has fallen off and dragging was heard, with three incidents in a year.
Location: 1390 Madison Blvd, LaVergne, TN It's convenient that this location does not show up at this location.
This is a repetitive problem with VIOC, the last 3 times I have been there for an oil change (LaVergne, TN) they have failed to install the bottom pan and it fell off on the road.
That's ridiculous. A month ago, I even heard it dragging on my CTS when I pulled out and I went straight back in and ask them why they didn't reinstall the bottom pan properly.
They fixed it immediately and apologized.
Last week I took my Infiniti for an oil change to them and they did it again. There's a serious lack of training and absolutely no quality checks in place to prevent this from happening. Oil changes, that's all they really do? How hard can it be to reinstall a panel that they removed?
To me, as a senior manager with a company, it's a complete lack of leadership and the manager needs to be replaced.
This has happened 3 times to me in the past year, same store. They just lost my business.
So, hopefully they will replace the area manager and find someone that's actually interested in delivering a quality product vs focusing on just making monthly sales for bonuses.
Very poor for Valvoline to tolerate this.
- Convenient to use
- Poor quality service
Preferred solution: Full refund

- - Maple Grove shop stalls were full.
- - Almost two hours for a 15-minute oil change; tech on break.
- - The online $25 off coupon was not honored.
Valvoline instant oil change, 9400 Dunkirk Lane north, maple grove, MN 55311
The tech guided me in to the stall, then told me she was going on break and would be back, waited 30 minutes with nobody servicing my SUV. I was just sitting there without anyone working on my vehicle.I tried complaining to the other techs, but they all ignored me. finially I flagged the manager Riley by yelling out my window across the shop, complaining about the wait, he said he would get started, 20 minutes later I was ready to leave. Almost two hours to get my 15-minute oil change.
Then before asking if I had a coupon he just rang it up, I had an online $25 off, but again they didn't listen. Do not waste your time at this store.

Poor Service and Unresolved Issue at Valvoline BD0021-Greenville
- - Oil change at Valvoline BD0021-Greenville caused a hanging skid plate and poor follow-up.
- - I won't return or recommend Valvoline.
I visited the Valvoline location BD0021-Greenville (2100 Greenville Vld SE, Greenville, NC) on March 7, 2024, for a quick oil change while I was in town for my daughters dentist appointment. I live 1.5 hours away from Greenville, so I was hoping to get in and out quickly.
After leaving the oil change, I started hearing a loud scratching noise and discovered that my skid plate was hanging from my vehicle.
I immediately returned to the store, but the manager at the time was incredibly unhelpful and frustrated. He couldn't find a replacement part, but promised to contact me once one was ordered. Two weeks later, after no follow-up, I called the store only to find out that the manager had quit, and I would need to work with someone else. This dragged on until May 29, when I finally called customer service and was assigned a claim number.
A regional manager called me, and we scheduled a time for me to come in, only for them to still not have the correct part.
I made a third trip, and I was guaranteed that the issue would finally be resolved. Unfortunately, in June 2024, the skid plate began hanging again. Due to my schedule and the distance I had to travel, I didnt follow up at that time.
Last week, the entire skid plate came down once again. I called Valvoline customer service, only to be told that since I had gone to another shop for an oil change in the meantime, they were no longer responsible for the issue.
Ive never had any issues with my vehicle prior to visiting Valvoline, and Im incredibly frustrated by the lack of resolution.
Ive made multiple trips to the store, only to be met with poor customer service and no lasting solution.
I will never recommend Valvoline to anyone, nor will I return to any of their locations again. This experience has been unacceptable, and I am extremely disappointed with how my situation has been handled.

Verified Reviewer |Blown head gasket after oil change
- - Cap left off during oil change caused coolant loss and engine overheating.
- - Valvoline disputes blown head gasket and won't share the oil-change video.
BEWARE!!
If I could give zero stars I would but it won't allow me too. My 18 year old son had he's oil changed and Valvoline failed to put the cap back on the reservoir for the coolant.
My son's car over heated not to long after leaving Valvoline. I contacted them to notify them of the situation. Since then we were having trouble car always needing coolant and what not. Finally took car into shop to find out the head gasket is blown.
Now waiting for a call from management. Will keep you all posted on how they are going to handle this situation.
We go to a one stop shop that is convenient and we don't even have to step out of our car. We shouldn't have to double check the work. We are not mechanics and are trusting places as big as Valvoline for our cars maintenance.
Yes human error no one is perfect. But now to see f they will take responsibility for this.
Update: So today the Manager Cody at Valvoline called advising he will go to the repair shop to investigate and reach back out. He calls this afternoon stating repair shop isn't saying it's a blown head gasket which it indeed is per the manger of repair shop along with the paperwork for the failed block test. They are playing this back and forth game.
My son saved for a whole year at 17 years old and bought this car with his own money down to his insurance. Valvoline stated they watched the video of the oil change but won't give me the video stating I have to get a court to request the video. They stated they doubled checked their work and was so sure of it but won't let us watch the video for ourselves. The sad part is we trust these people with our vehicle maintenance and they took full advantage.
Valvoline is stating they won't repair my son's car after they failed to replace the cap properly after topping off fluids. My son's car over heated after his oil change and Valvoline won't take responsibility for it.
It's one thing to admit to the human error but to act cowardly and dishonest proves why no one should take their cars to these phony shops. I gave them the benefit of the doubt to do what is right.
- Poor service
- Failed to replace cap for coolant car overheated
- Are not trusted

- - Prince Frederick, MD location charges $9.99 to check tire pressure.
- - They wouldn’t check one low tire unless all four tires were serviced.
Prince Frederick Maryland location is charging 9.99 to check your tire pressure between oil changes. They would not check one tire that was low on an emergency basis and instead wanted to charge me to have all four tires checked, all the fluids topped off and the lights checked.
Not only did I not need any of that, I did not have time for that and really just needed my one tire checked as it was leaking and I was on my way to work. They refused unless I paid for that and then spoke to the manager the next day and he informed me that they have to spend their time on paying customers. Yes he said that. I've used Valvoline for the last three cars I've had for oil changes and corporate says that they do provide free tire pressure checks and fluid top off between appointments.
This particular location says they are a franchise and they don't do that. Avoid this location at all costs, nobody should be making money off stupid stuff like that.

Verified Reviewer |Ruined My Car
- - Oil change led to radiator flush; car had no heat and overheated.
- - Engine later failed; I know it was from the work here.
I took my car in for an oil change only. I was talked into a radiator flush.
I took my car home and it sat that Saturday the next morning on my way to Cleveland. I had no heat and started getting overheating Messages. I got to a stopping point and let it sit. My intent was to take it back home and take it back to Valvoline the next morning and let them have it since this was a Sunday.
however, my car broke down. Luckily I was able to get off the highway. The place I had it towed revealed that my engine is now shot! I know with 100% of my being that it is a result of the work done at this location.
I have never had any engine issues with this car. Only tire brake maintenance since Ive owned it. This has been an excellent and reliable car up until now. I am furious and tried to file a complaint where of course they came back and said they had no fault.
Even the location I had it towed to thought the work they done could have caused this. Its just too coincidental that the very next morning I started to have issues.
I am furious and Im trying to fight this. They are not willing to make this right and I am going to continue to fight it so that it helps other customers.

Preferred solution: Fix my car or pay me for the . This was going to be my son‘s vehicle. It had been well maintained and serviced. I had just gotten new tires and brakes on it. I am not in a position to be able to buy another vehicle. This happened at the Wooster Oh
User's recommendation: do not take your car here
Incompetent employees
Tried this place after getting a 25%-off coupon in the mail. Even with that the cost was over $75.
When one does an oil change, one lubes the gasket on the filter with a film of oil. They apparently don't know that, and overtightened the filter on my car. Fortunately, no damage resulted.
Stay away from these businesses. Their goal is speed over competence.
